IASF World’s Recap

What a great weekend in Orlando at the IASF World Cheerleading Championships. This year CheerForce was luck enough to qualify 3 teams for the World Championships. Our Open AllGirl level 5 and level 6 teams as well as our Open Coed level 6 team. This was the first year CF had taken a Level 6 allgirl team to World’s and unfortunately the team did not qualify for final.

Sunday saw our IOAG 5 team and IOCE 6 team perform in finals with both teams having very good runs. Our IOAG 5 team finished in 6th place while our coed team finished in 10th. It was a great weekend for the CF Program. The coaches are so proud of the work the teams have put in this season.

Battle of the Beach – Recap

WOW!!!! What a great trip to the Spirit Sports Battle at the Beach this past weekend (Mar. 24th-28th) in South Carolina.

On Wednesday March 23rd, 132 athletes from WolfPack and Tigers waved the freshly fallen snow goodbye and headed out on a 20 hr. bus ride to South Carolina. The teams arrived Thursday around 2:00pm, checked into the hotel and had some time to get familiar with the surroundings. Friday was our free day and despite the cool temperatures in the morning the afternoon was beautiful. We had a light work out then ordered 46 pizzas for a big CF pizza party.

Saturday all the teams competed and had very good runs. That evening some teams had team dinners and then hit the sack to get ready for day 2.

Day 2 started out with loading all the busses and departing the hotel at 10:30am. We all headed to the venue and started gearing up for our second runs. The Juniors were up first and set the stage for a great day. They had a terrific run. Next up was the Tigers Senior 4 team with a solid run, improving on many aspects from the day before. The WolfPack Coed team hit the floor next and also had a better run than the day before. The fourth team to hit the floor was the WolfPack 4.2 team. Despite replacing 2 girls with injuries had the run of the weekend. INCREDIBLE!!! Finally after a long day the Tigers Small Senior 3 team hit the floor. Although they had some difficulty with the pyramid, they too improved on many things from the day before.

I know I speak for the coaches when I say we are all extremely proud of your efforts and showings this weekend. 6.5 weeks until Nationals – Lets Go FORCE!!!!

Queen of the Nile – Wrap-Up

WOW! What a terrific weekend in Cincinnati for the Allstar Challenge’s QUEEN OF THE NILE.

Friday morning 3 highway coaches pulled out of Oakville with 5 teams from CheerForce ready to take on the competition in Cincinnati.

The CheerForce Tigers Junior team was the first to hit the floor competing in the very tough Junior 3 division. There first run on Saturday in prelims was a good one with some little execution issues, however on Sunday the girls really used the comments on the score sheet to have a great run. The team ended in 4th, an awesome accomplishment with TOUGH teams like, Premier, Champion and Midwest Elite up against them.

The WolfPack Junior 4 team took the opportunity this weekend to compete some new difficult skills. They had some minor execution errors on Saturday and Sunday and finished in second place. The team did however win the “Best Tosses” title for the level 4 teams.

The WolfPack 4.2 team had 2 terrific runs this weekend. They ended up winning a National Championship, but more importantly really showed they are ready to take it to the next level. “Whatcha gonna do – Its 4.2″

The WolfPack coed team had a very good routine on Saturday with a minor execution error at the end of the pyramid. On Sunday the team really showed their focus and ran a nearly flawless routine. So much so they were able to defend the National Championship they won last year and bring it home again. Congratulations Coed.

The IOAG L5 team actually requested to compete in the Senior 5 division last weekend. The girls had a great run on Saturday with 2 partner stunt execution errors but an great performance. Sunday saw a pyramid execution error result in a 3rd place finish. The however won 3 “Specialty Awards for Best Standing Tumbling, Best Running Tumbling and Best Choreography.

The Coaches are thrilled with the [performances and what the athletes learned this weekend. They are all headed back into the gym this week to apply the feedback that was given by the judges and prepare for Cheer Evolution’s Cheer For The Cure.

Check back for some photos of the event later in the week.
